ARTIST REVIEWS

Each creator needs to transfer his knowledge and inventions to a student who, on this basis, finds his own, continuing this chain, which begins from the depths of the history of art …

However, to study and learn for yourself, to write studies with students, to create huge historical paintings in front of them, to travel and open dozens of exhibitions a year in different parts of the Motherland is a new invention of the modern Belarusian art school, and as they say: everything is new, well forgotten old …

The method of collective unity “student-master”, invented by a young Belarusian artist Vladimir Saiko, removes all the old concepts of the dictates of the artist over his students. Stable authority is developed not by separating the “mature” person from the “green” one, but by a general analysis of art … The main goal is highlighted as an exhibition of creativity, with a focus on the museum, as a temple for the artist where the work should be stored.

Thus, the art workshop of painting, drawing and composition by Vladimir Sayko is focused on replenishing the cultural heritage.

The workshop dates back to 2012, when the “picturesque mood” studio arose under the Central House of Artists and Artists of Minsk in Minsk, which has now been revived on the basis of the “SOS Village in Borovlyany”.

In 2013-14, the best students regularly went to summer open-airs to the workshop of UR Saiko, who found their place in the village of Zhazhelka, Smolevichi district, converted from the tasting room of the former BELPI alcoholic beverage factory.

On 3 2015, the studio of the painter Saiko received the status of the Art Workshop of Painting, Drawing and Composition, which students soon began to come from all over the country.

Since 2016, many museums, galleries and educational institutions in Minsk have offered to conduct joint classes with the workshop in their premises or on their territory, receiving some of the created paintings as a gift.

In 2017, V.G. Saiko completely restored the old house in the villages of Starinki, Borisov District, and moved his Workshop there.

Since 2017, the workshop has been conducting art plein airs every time of the year on the territory of both Belarus and Russia.

Vladimir Sayko is one of the most active young painters of Minsk, who organized a large number of his exhibitions both in the capital and in various regions of Belarus. Moreover, he unites creative youth around himself, whom he helps to take the first innovative steps in art. His main motto is to work with nature with sincere enthusiasm, to touch on significant and problematic events in the life of contemporaries, and to engage in a creative dialogue with Russian history. In short, the young artist was the first to walk along those dear and dear to his heart many paths and paths where the leg of the predecessor artists had not yet set foot.

His artistic credo is to develop the achievements of Russian realistic art, freely and picturesquely convey his thoughts and feelings in colors and images, drawn from direct life impressions; visualize past events relevant to our time.

A young artist, the author of many paintings, and his students offer the audience the beginning of their figurative series related to the themes and motives of their native country, military history, which they are deeply concerned about.

U.Saiko established himself as a promising battle painter, painter of the historical genre, as evidenced by his innovative compositions related to the heroic events that took place during the World Wars in Belarus. The artist also devotes his works to the great figures of Belarusian history, about whom so few paintings have been created.

His innovative method of a battle artist, which has no analogues in Russian art, is to create dramatic scenic scenes of directly reconstruction of military events with the mass participation of representatives of various clubs, respectively dressed and armed.

U.Sayko can always find an extraordinary landscape, see in the “simple and ordinary” a great coloristic and emotional wealth. Each year, the artist develops considerable creative potential, since his creative paths and paths lead through his native land, the eternal support of all our true values. The first quarter of his creative youth is convincing evidence of the effectiveness of the chosen path.
